Wilson V. Clough, 85, of Earleville, MD passed away at home peacefully on May 13, 2025 with his loving family by his side.

Wilson was born on March 14, 1940 in Wilmington, DE to the late Norman Sr. and Clara Jones Clough.  At a young age he along with his family moved to Cecil County where he has lived in Hacks Point and finally settled in Earleville.  At 17 years old he enlisted in the United States Army where he learned the mechanic trade, working on tanks.  He would continue this trade working as a Maintenance Mechanic for General Cable, Fleming Distribution Center, and finally retiring from PFG Performance Food, adding up to a career of over 50 years as a mechanic.

Mr. Clough's love for fixing things didn't stop at work.  He loved tinkering and working on equipment at home and for family and friends.  There wasn't an engine he couldn't fix.  He had the right tool for every job, and if he couldn't find the right tool, he would make it.  He was always willing to help anyone with a repair project on their home or automobile.  He loved classic country music, western movies, telling and hearing jokes and was famous for his baked beans and reheating his coffee, which was never hot enough.  Any time spent with Wilson was time well spent.

Along with his parents, Wilson was preceded in death by a daughter Dawn McLennan, a brother Norman Clough Jr. and sister Maria Nickerson.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years Betty Sweetman Clough; children Patricia Johns and Michael Clough (Amy) and Kevin Cole (Letitia); 2 sisters Joyce Barkley and Bonnie Woolleyhan; 2 brothers John Clough and George Clough; grandchildren James McLennan, Skylar Legg, Griffin Clough and Wilson Clough; 1 great-grandchild Slade Cole; devoted aunt Lillie Mae Clough, many loving nieces and nephews and his fury sidekick Sully.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday May 20, 2025 from 6 to 8 pm at the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD where Military Honors will be presented at 6:30 pm.
