William C. Manlove, 87, passed away on March 10, 2021 on his beloved Swan Harbor Farm, Earleville, MD.

Mr. Manlove was born on February 1, 1934, son of the late J. Edgar and Isabel Clark Manlove.  He has spent his entire life on Swan Harbor Farm where he lived, worked and raised his family.  He was a graduate of Cecilton High School and attended Western Maryland College.  Bill was a U.S. Army Veteran serving from 1955 to 1958.

Bill was a public servant, serving at President of the Board of Cecil County Commissioners from 2006–2008 (member, representing District 1 1978-1982, 1994-1998 and 2002-2008; Board of Health, Cecil County, 1978-1982, 1994-1998, 2002-2008; Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) Action Plan Committee, Cecil County, 2005-2007.  Also a member of Weed Control Committee, Board of Trustees for Upper Shore Mental Health, Board of Directors, Bainbridge Development Corporation, 2006-2008, Chair, Upper Shore Regional Council, 2007-2008 (member, 2003-2008), Cecil County Board of Education 2011-2020, Board of Directors, Maryland Rural Development Corp. 2006. A Member of Business and Education Partnership Advisory Council; Maryland Eastern Shore Resource Conservation and Development Council; Cecil County Farm Bureau; Cecil Lions Club (past president); Upper Bay Ruritan Club, Ancient Free and Accepted Mason, Union Lodge #48, Elkton.  He was a member of St. Peter's Anglican Church where he served as a Vestry member.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his 4 sisters, Laura Orth, Isabel Thomas, Katherine Jester and Emily M. Manlove.

Bill is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mary Williams Manlove; children, Clark Manlove (Judy) of Earleville and Jane E. Garrett (Michael) of Perryville; 2 grandsons, Bryan Manlove (Kristen) of Warwick and Senior Airman Kyle Manlove of Kansas and 2 great granddaughters Aubree and Savannah.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 16 from 6 to 8 pm in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD.  Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 17 at 11 am in St. Peter's Anglican Church, 1069 Frenchtown Rd., Elkton, MD. 21921.  Burial will be held privately by family in St. Stephen's Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be offered to St. Peter's Anglican Church or Amedisys Hospice c/o Galena Funeral Home.
