William Nelson Coleman, Sr., 94 of Worton, MD passed away on December 26, 2024 at the Resorts at Chester River Manor.
Mr. Coleman was born on September 3, 1930, son of the late Nelson W. and Bessie E. Anderson Coleman. He was raised near Roberts Station until moving to Worton in 1955. Bill was a great softball player and an umpire for over 50 years in Kent & Queen Anne's Counties. He worked as a farmer and carpenter and for the Kent County Board of Education as a locksmith. After retiring he worked as a first mate on a charter boat, he loved being on the water. He enjoyed fishing with the family, bowling, especially Duck Pins, woodworking, building furniture and bird houses. He was talented, working with his hands
Along with his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Catherine E. Coleman, son William Coleman, Jr., siblings, Dudley, Marvin, Frances and Margaret.
Mr. Coleman is survived by his children, Penny Pickering (Ed) of Rock Hall and Mark Coleman (Suzanne) of Worton; a brother Pete Coleman of Centreville; 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, January 2 from 11-1pm at Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD where funeral service will begin at 1pm. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Worton, MD.
