Wayne Joseph Bedwell, Sr., 69 of Worton, MD, passed away on February 2, 2021 at Shore Medical Center in Chestertown, Maryland.

Mr. Bedwell was born on October 6, 1951 in Chestertown, son of the late Joseph Woodall Bedwell and Hilda Mae Goodman Bedwell. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving a tour in Vietnam as a member of the 101st Airborne Division and earning the Bronze Star Medal. He had lived in Townsend, DE for 15 years and returned to Kent County, Maryland in 1990. He worked for the Kent County Board of Education and then continued with Aramark as their Facilities Manager, receiving numerous awards for leadership and excellence for his service until retiring in 2018. For over 25 years, he also worked part-time assisting with maintenance at the Presbyterian Church of Chestertown.

Wayne enjoyed his sporting dogs, clay shooting, gardening, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Brenda "Bobbie" Gault Bedwell; son, Wayne J. Bedwell Jr. and his wife Cecily of Perryville, MD; his stepson Charles Myers of Worton, MD; his brother, Gary Bedwell and his wife Mary Ann of Millington, MD; his niece, Angie Short of Millington and his 2 grandchildren, Lauren Bedwell and Sydney Bedwell.

Immediate services will be held privately with a public service to be held later this year.
