Walter S. Batchelor, Jr, (Waldo) 68 of Rock Hall, MD passed away on July 2, 2021.

Waldo was born on April 22, 1953 at Camp Lejeune, NC, son of the late Walter S. Batchelor, Sr and Alice Virginia Dewesbury. In 1961 his family moved to Rock Hall.  After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force.  After his honorable discharge he returned to Rock Hall where he worked as a carpenter and painter for 30 years at various marinas on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, finally retiring from Gratitude Marina in Rock Hall.  Waldo was a member of Rock Hall American Legion Post 228 and enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing softball.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father Jim Palmatory, brother, Mike and sisters Nancy and Patty.

Waldo is survived by his son, W. Steven Batchelor, III and wife Krista; grandchildren, Brayden and Kyleigh and a brother Joseph Batchelor all of Rock Hall.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at 6 p.m. in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, Galena, MD, where friends may call after 5 p.m.
