Walter Lusby Davis, 90 of Bradenton, FL formerly of Chestertown, MD died May 26, 2021 in Tidewell Hospice, Bradenton, FL.
Mr. Davis was born on February 12, 1931 in Cambridge, MD, son of the late Thomas J. and Emily E. Lusby Davis. He was a 1947 graduate of Chestertown High School, during that time he met Dorothy Crouch and married soon after. He furthered his education, receiving a 2-year degree from Beacom College. Mr. Davis had a 36-year career with the Chestertown Post Office as a postal clerk, retiring in 1986 and moving to Bradenton, FL. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church since early childhood. At the time of his death he was attending Mill Creek Baptist Church in Bradenton.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Beth Davis McCoy in 2011.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Crouch Davis, granddaughter, Rachel McCoy of Tenn., brother and sister-in-law Thomas and Susan Davis.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 2 at 2 pm in St. Paul's Cemetery, Sandy Bottom Rd., Chestertown.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be offered to Mill Creek Baptist Church, 12713 Upper Manatee River Rd., Bradenton, FL 34212.
