Virginia Loller Davis, 94 of Earleville, MD passed away on February 23, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Davis was born on January 3, 1929, daughter of Samuel Emerson Loller and Mary Louise Matthews Loller. She was a 1948 graduate of Cecilton High School. In April 1949, she married Edgar Lusby Davis and they began to start their family. In 1960 they moved to Middle Ground Farm in Earleville, MD where Virginia spent the rest of her years as a supportive farmer's wife and mother to five children.
Mrs. Davis was a member of Zion Methodist Church in Cecilton, where she served her local community working in the church kitchen, in addition to volunteering for seasonal events like the annual Christmas Bazaars, Strawberry Festivals and Ruritan dinners.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Edgar L. Davis, and her sisters Jean Wooleyhan, Margaret Schrader, and Nancy Dixon.
Mrs. Davis is survived by her brother, Emerson Loller and his wife Connie of Earleville, MD; her sister-in-law Mae Davis of Cecilton, MD, her five children and their spouses, Grace and Rich Achuff of Elkton, MD, Virginia Lee Davis and Dudley Clough, Ned and Sarah Davis and Glenn and Donna Davis of Earleville, MD, and Lisa and Gus Schwartzbeck of Union Bridge, MD, in addition to her 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Monday February 27 from 6-8pm at Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, Galena, MD. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 am at Zion United Methodist Church, Cecilton, MD. The burial will follow in St. Stephen's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be offered to Zion Methodist Church, ATTN: The Kitchen Fund, PO Box 326, Cecilton, MD 21913 or St Stephens Cemetery Fund, 10 Glebe Rd. Earleville, MD 21919.
