Virginia N. Buckingham, 90 of Galena, MD passed away on December 30, 2025 at University of Maryland Medical Center at Easton.

Mrs. Buckingham was born on December 14, 1935, daughter of the late Manly P. and Della Mae Presswell Nowland.  She was raised in Elkton, MD where she graduated from Elkton High School.  After her marriage to Ralph 'Bucky' Buckingham, Jr., they moved to Newark, DE, where they had their son Alan.  In 2006 Bucky and Virginia moved to Galena, MD, enjoying their retirement.  Virginia enjoyed traveling, watching the Braves play ball and the Capital's hockey.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Ralph 'Bucky' Buckingham, Jr. in 2020 and her faithful companion Molly.

Mrs. Buckingham is survived by her son, Alan Buckingham, a sister, Patricia Nowland of Newark, DE, and two grandchildren, Liam Fox and his wife Alisa of Aberdeen, MD and Jordyn Greene and her husband Nicholas of Washington, DC

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 8 at 12 noon in Galena Cemetery, Galena, MD.

In memory of her beloved labrador Molly, memorials may be offered to Paws for Life, PO Box 407, Chesapeake City, MD 21915.
