Vinson K. Lively, 86, of Georgetown, MD passed away on March 9, 2025, at Chestertown Nursing and Rehab.

Vinson was born on November 24, 1938, in Pax, WV to the late J. Will and Rosey Lively.  At the age of 18 Vinson enlisted in the United States Marine Corp and was a proud Marine.  During this time, he was stationed in Okinawa, Japan where he was a logistical operator and helped rebuild bridges on the island.   In 1960 Vinson married the love of his life Trenia and started their family in West Virginia.  Together they moved their family to the Eastern Shore of Maryland in 1963. He was a career Bridge Carpenter and worked on many bridges in the surrounding areas.  After his retirement he became the caretaker of WhiteHall Farms for over 30 years.

As a young father he loved coaching little league and youth football teams.  He was an active member of the Millington VFW post 652 and the Chesapeake City Masonic Lodge where he also participated as a Shriner in Wilmington, DE.  Vinson was also a Life Member of the Marydel Fire Department Auxiliary, Station 56.  He loved the outdoors and being on the water where he enjoyed fishing, hunting and crabbing.  Most importantly he loved being with his family and friends.  He had a great group of coffee buddies that over the years would meet at different local restaurants for breakfast.  Above all he adored his family; he was happiest when he was surrounded by his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Along with his parents, Vinson was preceded in death by his wife of 36 years, Trenia Lively and siblings Leo, Della and Ollie.

Vinson is survived by his children, Vinson Lively (Tracy) of Bristow, VA, Janell Kellogg (Scott-deceased) of Chestertown, MD, and Roger Lively of Georgetown, MD; grandchildren, Jeff Kellogg (Shannon), Jason Buchanan (Nikki), Rebekah Fenimore (Brandon) and her mother Lisa Graybeal, Jessie Marsh (Dave), Kimmy Jamar (Adam), Zachary Lively, and Caitlin Lively; many great grandchildren and longtime companion Naomi Fields.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025 from 11 am to 12 pm in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD, where a Funeral Service will begin at 12 noon.  Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery, Chesapeake City, MD.
