Thomas Hugh Gilmore, 76 of Pedricktown, NJ, passed away on July 3, 2026 in Earleville, MD.
Mr. Gilmore was born on September 11, 1949 in London, son of the late Hugh Joseph and Ellen Nally Gilmore. At the age of 6, his parents immigrated to the United States, making their home in Philadelphia, PA. After graduating from Roman Catholic High School, he enlisted in the Marine Corps, where he rose to the rank of Sergeant. He went on to earn his master’s degree in engineering from Penn State University.
Mr. Gilmore had a lifelong passion for two hobbies: boats and horses. He fixed up and sailed dozens of boats throughout his lifetime, beginning in his teenaged years. He was also an avid horseman, and was actively involved in St. Augustine Pony Club of Warwick, MD.
Mr. Gilmore is a Professor Emeritus with Gwynedd Mercy University, where he taught computer science, general science, and mathematics for 38 years. After retiring, he enjoyed life on his boats.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Eve Gilmore Morrison.
Mr. Gilmore is survived by his daughters, Rosaleen Gilmore of Lewes, DE and Alyson Gilmore Corson of Woodstown, NJ, a granddaughter Beatrice Corson, and his siblings Michael Gilmore of Myrtle Beach, SC, Kathleen Gilmore of Palmerton, PA, Barry Gilmore of Princeton, NJ and Kevin Gilmore of Allentown, PA.
Services will be held privately.
