Thomas Arthur Baxter, 76 of Hartly, DE, passed away at home on April 21, 2021.

Mr. Baxter was born on June 13, 1944, son of the late Albert F. and Hazel Cook Baxter.  He was raised on a farm near Still Pond, MD and was a 1963 graduate of Chestertown High School.  Tom was a carpenter working in commercial construction for many years.  He has lived in Hartly, DE since 1978.  He enjoyed his Friday morning coffee with his friends in Chestertown, he also enjoyed restoring and collecting John Deere tractors.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his nephew, Officer Michael Nickerson.

Tom is survived by his wife of 40 years, Caroline Eierman Baxter, daughter Kim Odom (Mark) of Tenn.; sisters, Sue Nickerson (Joe) and Ann Jewell; brothers, David Baxter (Diane) and Jay Baxter all of Worton and 3 grandchildren.

A viewing will be held on Monday, April 26 from 6 to 8 pm in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD, where funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 27 at 11 am.  Burial in Union Cemetery, Worton, MD.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be offered to the Chestertown Alumni Assoc. or the Officer
