Susan Woodall Martinez, 74 of Chestertown, MD passed away on February 12, 2024 of heart failure at Shore Medical Center at Easton.

Susan was born on September 17, 1949, daughter of the late John 'Stump' and Katherine 'Kitty' Jewell Woodall.  She was raised in Still Pond until her family moved to Chestertown in 1966.  Susan was a 1968 graduate of Chestertown High School and furthered her education at Towson College.  She began her career in 1977 with the Kent County Commissioners and in 1989 went to work for the Kent County Board of Education as their Finance Secretary, where she has worked for the last 35 years.

Since 1997 Susan has been the treasurer of the Chestertown Alumni Association.  She loved to cook and bake, spend time with her family and was a fan of football.

She is survived by her son, Michael Martinez (Jessica); brother William Spry; a cousin, Tom Jewell; nieces Kathy Spry (Jeff) and Lynn Cohee (Rich); 3 great nieces, 1 great nephew and 7 great great nieces and a nephew.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, February 24 from 10 am to 12 pm in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD, where funeral service will be held at 12 pm.  Burial will follow in Galena Cemetery.
