Steven John Maristch-Maruszin, 58 of Betterton, MD passed away unexpectedly on February 20, 2024, at the University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Chestertown.

Steven was born in Philadelphia, PA on January 11, 1966, to Joan M. McGlone Maristch and the late Michael S. Maristch.  He grew up in Chester County, PA and was a graduate of Unionville High School.  Steven built a career within the construction and home improvement field, including running his own successful business, Chicken-Necker Painting, Steven also worked as Head of Maintenance for Kent Crossing and Colonial Manor Apartments.

Steven was an avid collector, amassing a varied collection that included coins, antiques, sports cards and had most recently picked up the art of growing and trimming bonsai trees.  He became a loving 'Cat Dad' to Ellie and Penny. He also loved the beach, traveling anywhere, but most enjoyed trips to Charleston, SC, Gettysburg, PA and most recently discovered a love for cruising.  His most cherished time was spent with his wife and children, whom he adored.

In addition to his father, Steven is preceded in death by a daughter, Alysha M. Maristch and a granddaughter Avery L. Hutter.

He is survived by his wife of 18 years Lori Jean Pierce-Maristch, daughters Peyton Marleah Maristch and Bailey Michaela Maristch; son Kaleb Logan Maristch; stepchildren Dustin Lee Hutter and Jessica Leigh Hutter.  Siblings Joan, Michael, Daniel and Tina; grandchildren Brayden and Brody Hutter; A Nephew, Jason Miller with whom he had grown especially close, as well as many other beloved nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held on Monday February 26, 2024, from 10 to 11:30 AM in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD.  A funeral Service will follow at 11:30AM.
