Sheldon Price Sartin, 73, of Delaware City, DE passed away on July, 26 2026. 

Shelly was born on October 17, 1953 in Trenton, NJ to the late Walter P. and Thelma Haley Sartin. After graduating from William Penn HS in 1973 he joined the United States Navy where he proudly served for 6 years and was invited to join the Navy S.E.A.L.S. Instead, he decided to come home and marry his middle school sweetheart, Ann. Following his time in the Navy he served with the merchant marines for a short time and eventually joined the Delaware National Guard in 1983. He served in the guard until his retirement in 2013. He was also a proud member of the Local Carpenter Union 626. 

Shelly was a master carpenter who loved to build and create, even building his own home. In his spare time he loved hunting, working on his endless projects around the house and always helping friends with theirs. He especially enjoyed waterfowl hunting, Pheasant Shoots and boating in his younger days. Shelly was known and loved for his expertise in many things and loved sharing his knowledge with anyone who would listen. 

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his brother Walter C. Sartin. 

Shelly is survived by his daughter Maureen S. Sartin of Delaware City; two grandchildren who he adored above all, Arianna Rodriguez and Joseph Sanders; Siblings Nimrah F. Sartin of Glasgow and Lisa Rets of South Carolina. 

A viewing will be held on August 6, 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD where a funeral service will begin at 1:00PM. Burial will follow in Galena Cemetery.
