Sarah Jo "Jody" Pomeroy, 86 of Chestertown Md. peacefully went home to be with the Lord on January 31, 2022 in Florida, surrounded by her loving family.

Jody was born on September 4, 1935 in Long Beach, California, to the late Col. and Mrs. Francis M. Wulbern.  She spent her childhood living in many states across the U.S. as the daughter of an officer in the Marine Corps. The family later settled in San Diego, where she was a graduate of San Diego High School. Jody then earned her B.A. from San Diego State University, where she was a member of Alpha Phi, enjoyed drama and met her husband, Richard. She was an original Chargette for the San Diego Chargers football team home games. Jody taught elementary school in California and then for 18 years in New Jersey, where since 1969, she and her husband continued to raise their children.   She retired from Moorestown Friends school in 1996 where upon she comfortably resided in Kennedyville, Md by the Sassafras River with her husband. Jody was a longtime member of Hope Fellowship in Chestertown where she taught Sunday School and sang with the choir. She enjoyed baking, boating on the Sassafras and spending time with her family.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years Richard Pomeroy and her brother Julian H. Wulbern, of San Diego, CA.

Jody, affectionately known as Grammy, is survived by her son, Bradley Pomeroy; her daughter and son in law, Linda and Joe Giardinelli, three grandchildren: Rachel (Giardinelli) Remick and husband Jason, Jessica (Giardinelli) Simone and husband Bob and Gideon Giardinelli, as well as six great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on March 12, 2022 at 11:00 at Hope Fellowship Church Chestertown, Md. She will be laid to rest in a private service alongside her husband at Shrewsbury Cemetery.
