Samuel (Sam) Wright, owner, operator and mechanic of Hilton Marine in Elsmere, Delaware, passed away on February 26, 2026, at the age of 84 years young. Customers valued Sam's vast knowledge of outboard marine engines, humor and work ethics for over 70 years.

Friends and family will miss his warm smile and willingness to serve in several capacities. His church family will miss his enjoyment of sitting behind the video camera for church services and functions. All through his youth and life, Sam loved playing the keyboard. When Sam and Kathie met, their love of music and song lasted throughout. He proudly served in the Navy on the aircraft carrier Bennington, from 1963 to 1967 as an engineer.

He is survived by his wife, Kathie Wright and 5 children from 2 marriages. Samantha Slagle, Kari Bellamy, Mandalin Wright, Sam Wright Jr. and Atom Wright. Grandchildren Christopher Haynes and Jesstine Brehms.

Celebration of life will be held April 11, 2026 at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 647 Wyoming Ave, Dover, DE. Service will begin promptly at 3 pm. Navy military honor will be held during the service. Dinner will follow. All are invited. Sam always wore western attire. It is requested that men wear a bolo tie in remembrance. Contributions may be made to support Dover First Christian School.
