Ruth Anne Stretch, 81 of Galena, MD passed away peacefully on June 15, 2021 in her home.

Ruth was born on April 1, 1940 in Lansdowne, PA, daughter of the late Samuel G. and Edna Orenda Geissinger Eckerd.  She worked as an administrative assistant for Scott Paper Company for 24 years.  In 2000 she moved to Galena where she became active in the community with Olivet United Methodist Church, Sassafras River Business Council and the Dogwood Festival.  She enjoyed photography, making postcards and greeting cards.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Orenda M. Sultzbach.

Ruth is survived by her sons, David T. Stretch and Robert R. Stretch; a brother, Stephen Eckerd; brother in law, Skip Sultzbach and 2 grandchildren, Sinclaire and Tristan Stretch.

Per her wishes, services will be private.
