Ruby Ann Husfelt Alcorn, 88 of Elkton, MD passed away peacefully on November 10, 2024 at Autumn Lake Healthcare at Calvert Manor, 14 days after the death of her beloved husband Bob.

Mrs. Alcorn was born on January 15, 1936 in Earleville, MD, daughter of the late William Vernon Husfelt, Sr, and Mary Elizabeth Bailey Husfelt Gifford. She was a graduate of Cecilton High School. In 1965 she married her husband Robert Alcorn and moved to Elkton. Ruby owned and operated a small daycare and cleaning business, and worked for a local insurance company as well as Money's Market in Middletown, Delaware.

She was always active with church, where she was a current member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. Throughout her life, she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, and cleaned the church. Ruby enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, reading, watching her soap operas and was known for her cooking and baking.

Along with her parents, William V. Husfelt, Sr. and Elizabeth Gifford, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, James Gifford, her husband of 59 years Robert Alcorn and her brother Thomas W. Husfelt.

Ruby is survived by her daughter April Alcorn, her brother, William V. Husfelt, Jr. and many well-loved nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.

A visitation will be held on Monday November 18th from 5 to 6 pm in Pleasant View Baptist Church, 150 Downin Lane, Port Deposit, MD 21904, where a celebration of her life will begin at 6 pm.

Memorials may be offered to Pleasant View Baptist Church in Ruby's memory.
