Robert A. Suloman, 80 of Rock Hall, MD, passed away on May 10, 2023 at home in Rock Hall surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Suloman was born on June 3, 1942, in Philadelphia, PA, son of the late John and Stephanie Suloman. He graduated from Pottstown High School in 1960 and from Susquehanna University in 1964 with a BS degree in marketing. He and his wife Nancy were married in 1964. They moved to Carlisle Pa and lived on a farm there for almost 30 yrs. He started his career in Carlisle as a real estate salesman and three years later as a broker opened his own office, Revere Real Estate, He also was the founder of the first multiple listing service in Carlisle.
His hobbies included bird hunting and raising German Shorthaired Pointers. He also was an avid fly fisherman. In 1988 he and his wife bought a sailboat which changed their lives dramatically. New to boating, they learned to sail and spent many years exploring the Chesapeake Bay. In 2002 they made the first of 3 round trips down the ICW to Florida and then crossed the ocean to the Abacos in the Bahamas. In 2007 they decided to keep their boat full time in Green Turtle Cay so they could spend more time exploring the islands. After moving to Rock Hall permanently in 1992, Bob worked as an associate broker for Hogans Agency and Gunther McClary before retiring in 2019.
Mr. Suloman is survived by his wife of 58 years, Nancy Zook Suloman; children, John Peter Suloman of Chestertown, MD, Lauren Scott Suloman of Mechanicsburg, PA and Matthew Robert Suloman of Rock Hall, MD. Also, 2 grandchildren, John Nicholas Suloman and Kelsey Elise Weir.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 23 at 1pm at St. Paul's-Kent Cemetery, 7579 Sandy Bottom, Rd., Chestertown, MD. We welcome you to a reception at the church hall following the graveside service.
Donations may be offered to the RHVFD.
