Robert Lee Smith, 'Zeke', 84 of Middletown, DE passed away on March 8, 2022 in Christiana Hospital.

Bob was born on April 7, 1937 in Carlos, MD, son of the late Robert W. and Loretta McCloud Smith.  He was raised in West Virginia, moving to Still Pond, MD in 1957.  In 1967 he began his career with Johnson Control's, retiring in 1999 after 32 years of service.  He was a member of Dover Elks, Smyrna American Legion and Camden-Wyoming Moose.  Bob enjoyed collecting clocks, coins and trains, he loved country and bluegrass music, but he truly missed the mountains of West Virginia.

Along with his parents, he was preceded by daughter in law, Patti Smith, grandson Robert Lee Smith II, brother Ben Smith and sisters, Georgie Smith and Loretta Scott.

Bob is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 64 years, Betty Jean Capel Smith; children, R. Eugene 'Gene' Smith (Terri) of Chestertown, Michael A. Smith of Worton and Kathleen E. Holland (Kenny) of Middletown; siblings, Johnny Smith, Christine Smith, Ernestine Miller, Tommy Smith (Judy), Joann Delbrook (Minto) and Donald Smith (Kathy); 5 grandchildren, Michael Lynn Whitehead (Chris), Jeremy Smith (Danielle), Stacey Smith, Heather Wyatt and Heidi Wyatt and 3 great grandchildren Gunner Whitehead, Layne Smith and Daisy Smith.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, March 12 from 10 to 12 in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, Galena, MD where funeral service will begin at 12 pm.  Burial will follow in Chester Cemetery, Chestertown, MD.
