Richard F. Leager, 70 of Chestertown passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family.

Richard was born on November 26, 1950, son of the late George Seaford Leager and May Belle Meekins.  He was a lifetime resident of Kent County where at the age of 15 began working on Andelot Farm, retiring in 2020 after 55 years of service. From 1974 thru 1989 he also lived on the farm.  Richard loved watching TV, enjoying rides through the county and playing cards.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by numerous siblings.

Richard is survived by his loving partner of 48 years, Leanne J. Himes; children, Tracy Burris (Steve) of Millington, Amanda Starks (Kyler) of Denver, CO, Richard F. Himes (Amanda) and Jenna Himes both of Chestertown; a brother James Leager (Mary Jane) of Rock Hall; 2 grandchildren; God daughter Amy Hayman; his yorkie Ollie B and many nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, November 21 from 12 to 2 pm in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD, where funeral service will begin at 2 pm.
