Raymond E. Hintz, 67 of Chesapeake City, MD, went home to be with the Lord and his beloved wife Susan on January 26, 2022.

Mr. Hintz was born on March 3, 1954 in Philadelphia, PA, son of Mary Roland Hintz and the late Edward J. Hintz.  Ray was a mechanic for Roller Service Corp in Newark, DE for 30 years.  He was a member of Calvary Chapel in Chestertown where he was active with Bible Study, prayer groups, singing and playing the guitar.  He has lived in Cecil County since the early 1990's, where he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Along with his father, he was preceded in death by his wife of 29 years Susan Hintz and a brother Roy Hintz.

Mr. Hintz is survived by his mother Mary Roland Hintz of North Carolina; son, Joel J. Mattson of Jacksonville, FL; daughter in law Jenny Mattson of Earleville, granddaughters Kiley and Abbie Mattson; sisters, Sue Sutherlin of North Carolina and Heidi Hintz Hwang of Colorado; brother, John Hintz of Pennsylvania; step-mother Carolyn Hintz of Pennsylvania; niece Christine Rennolds and a nephew Edmund M. Dawejko, Jr.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, February 5 from 11 to 1 pm in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD where funeral service will begin at 1 pm.  Burial will follow in Calvary Chapel Cemetery.
