Ralph G. Shaw, 87 of Galena, MD passed away on June 27, 2024 at Compass Regional Hospice, Centreville, MD.

Ralph was born on September 11, 1936, son of the late Harry and Mary Traverse Shaw.  He was born in Fredericktown and raised on Sandy Bottom Rd until moving to Galena in 1946.  Ralph was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1955, serving until obtaining his honorable discharge in1957.  He had worked for Heavlow Trucking, Dover Air Force Base, Dill Brothers, Alger Oil, and Rolands Auto.  He retired from the Kent County Landfill after 10 ½ years of service, at the age of 73.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Virginia Kendall Shaw; his daughter Frances Lee Beck and siblings, Ethel Cronlund, Ida Josephine Moore, Harry Shaw, Jr., Robert Shaw, James Shaw, Ann Thomas, Lily Dill, Mary Moffett, Helen Cooper and Roland Shaw.

Ralph is survived by his children, Mark Shaw (Barbara), Donna Miller (Jerry) and David Shaw (Lisa) all of Galena, son-in-law Larry Beck. 10 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren.

A private service will be held in Galena Cemetery.
