Ralph Lee Capel, 86, of Denton, MD, passed away peacefully on Saturday September 19, 2026 at the Barnette Center- Compass Hospice in Centreville.

Ralph was born on November 14, 1939 in Chestertown to the late Medford E. and Bessie Batchelor Capel. He grew up in Chestertown and was a Chestertown High School graduate. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and retired after serving over 20 years of dedicated service. After retirement he worked for the State Highway and Roads departments in both Florida and Maryland. Away from work Ralph enjoyed his time on the water. He loved being out on the boat and fishing.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his son Thomas ‘Danny’ Capel, whom he shared with his first wife.

Ralph is survived by his loving wife Anne, his daughter Kathi whom he also shared with his first wife, 5 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren.

A private Interment will take place at the Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery.
