Phyllis Louise Hurley went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 8, 2024.  She was born in Buffalo, New York to Leland and Dorothy Palmerton.

She is survived by her husband Jerry, daughter Tina and her husband Tim, sons, Marty and his wife Sue and Glenn, six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one sister, two brothers and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her son Mike and her youngest sister, Sue.

Phyllis was blessed with so many talents and qualities.  She loved and took great care of her family and friends, helping out with her church events especially weddings, birthdays and Vacation Bible School.  During the school years she used the school bus to take children to and from Chestertown Christian Academy.

She enjoyed doing her art paintings and photography, winning many first place and grand champion awards.  She took great pride and care, altering wedding dresses for the brides to be and baking and decorating their wedding cakes.

She was truly a gift to us all.

Her favorite Bible verse was John 3:16 and her favorite song was Heaven Came Down and Glory Filled My Soul.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, July 13 from 1 to 2 pm in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD where funeral service will begin at 2 pm.  Burial will follow in Crumpton Cemetery.
