Peggy Taylor Christian, 79, of Chestertown, MD passed away on February 2, 2023 at Shore Medical Center at Easton.

Peggy was born on April 13, 1943, daughter of the late Andrew Jackson Taylor, Sr., and Anna Thomas Taylor.  She was raised in Galena where she was a graduate of Galena High School.  She married and raised her family in Chestertown.  Mrs. Christian worked for Leggett's Department Store, the Peoples Bank from 1986-2009 and retired from Acme Market in 2018.

She was a member of the Red Hat Society, Eastern Star Chapter 86, Chestertown and the Soroptimist Club.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Patsy Taylor Leager and brothers, Andrew Taylor, Jr. and Harry Rafine.

Mrs. Christian is survived by her husband of 37 years, George Randolph Christian; children, Mary Ann Dodd (Bob Pierpont) of Grasonville, MD and Gregory Scott Long (Debra Lynn) of Chestertown, step-daughter, Mary Lou Christian of Chestertown; 7 grandchildren, Ashley Marie Dean (Michael), Jason Thomas Dodd, Lindsay Ann Thompson (Jared), Griffin Scott Long, Austin John Coley Long, Amber Joanne Long and Autumn Iacona and greatgrandchildren, Lillian Catherine Dean, Tyler Michael Dean, Anna Lynn Dodd, Nathan Thomas Dodd, Harper Margaret Thompson, Jared Walter Thompson, Jr and Cole Willard Thompson.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, February 11 from 12 to 1pm in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD where funeral service will begin at 1pm.  Burial will follow in Galena Cemetery.
