Patricia Diane Scoone Moffett was born January 19, 1946, in Rock Hall, Maryland.  She was the daughter of Harrison and Elizabeth (Libby) Davis Scoone.  She has two brothers, Harrison "Skip" Scoone and wife Kris of Naples, Florida and James "Jamie" Scoone and Gitana Gibson of Cape Coral, Florida.  A sister, Suzanne preceded her in death.  Her father was a charter boat captain which had her traveling at an early age.  She lived in Miami, Florida, Pawleys Island, South Carolina, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and Fairhope, Alabama before returning to Chestertown, Maryland in her 10th grade of high school.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years Michael Moffett, her daughter Cynthia (Cindy) Moore and her husband Brad Moore of Worton, Maryland.  She has three grandchildren, Kimberly Penny of Chestertown, Maryland, Ashley Miller and her husband Adam of Rolleston, New Zealand, and B. Trice Moore of Worton, Maryland; great-granddaughter Willow Miller of Rolleston New Zealand; sister-in-law Hazel Moffett of Chestertown, MD; and brother-in-law William Moffett of Dover, Delaware.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.

She Married Michael Moffett, June 10, 1964.  She worked as a secretary for David A. Bramble, Tenneco, law offices on Lawyers Row, States Attorney Office and then the Kent County Board of Education from which she retired in 1989.  After her retirement she worked with Inner Images of Chestertown, Maryland doing custom interior finishes.

Diane had many interests.  She loved quilting, sewing, working with her flowers and entertaining, but what she loved the most was her family and her grandchildren.  After retirement she helped Cindy and Brad with their three children.  Mom Mom was her favorite title.  Many knew her as this, not just her own grandchildren.

Diane died peacefully with her family by her side on June 25, 2025, following a surgery at AAMC.

A visitation will be held on July 2, 2025, from 5 to 7 PM in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD where a Service will follow led by Rev. Denise Jones.

A burial will be held privately.
