Patricia Ann Hughes, 71 died May 10, 2021 in her home for the last 4½ years at Briscoe Manor, Galena.

Patricia was the daughter of the late Robert G. and LeeDell Herndon Hughes, born and raised in Hicksville, Long Island, NY.  She was a 1967 graduate of Hicksville High School and receive her BSA degree in Liberal Arts and Biology from State University College, Oneonta, NY.

Always involved in church, on February 18, 1980 her life took a big turn at a volunteers meeting of the Long Island Klown Enthusiasts.  She attended training workshops and combined clowning and ministry evolving into Pattycake the Clown.

In 1989 life brought her to Chestertown where she became active with Clowns of Delaware and local churches and civic functions.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, William L. Hughes and in January her companion of 10 years, Jackie McCraw.

She is survived by a sister, Garnett Gay Hughes of Florida, a dear sister-in-law, Kathy Bowles of Long Island; nephew Billy Hughes; niece Kim Hughes Hoelldobler and Jackie's daughter, Samantha Pearce of Chapel Hill, NC.

A memorial service is being planned.
