Niles Allen George, Sr., 89 of Millington, MD passed away peacefully at home on May 17, 2026

Mr. George was born on February 11, 1937, son of the late Francis D. George, Sr. and Susabelle King George. He was a lifetime resident of Millington and a 1956 graduate of Galena High School. He began his career as a meat cutter for the Acme Markets, working mostly in Centreville, MD, he retired as their Meat Manager after many years of service. He also helped open Acme Markets in the area.

Mr. George was a life member of the NRA; he loved deer hunting, vegetable gardening, baseball and football. He loved his family and spending time with them.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years Joyce Ann Thompson George in 2022; their son Niles A. ‘Tom’ George, Jr. in 2023 and siblings, Francis D. ‘Bus’ George, Betty George and Ruth Ann George.

Mr. George is survived by 2 daughters, Doris Bramble (Thomas) of Millington and Roxanne George of Las Vegas, a brother, Charles George of Millington; 2 sisters, Jean Mulford of Elkton and Nancy Lee Karnes of Mary Del, 2 grandchildren Gerald Bramble III and Bridget Kessler (Mike); 2 great grandchildren Kirsten Hunter and Khloe Hunter and his caregiver and niece Devan Davis.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, May 27 from 10 to 11 am in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD where funeral service will begin at 11 am. Burial will follow in Asbury Cemetery, Millington, MD.
