Nellie L. Wilson known as "Booker" was born on December 13, 1928, in Warwick, Maryland to the late Marshall Fields, Sr. and Nellie M. Fields.  Nellie passed away peacefully at Christiana Hospital in Newark, DE on March 22, 2023.

She received her early education in Middletown, DE and graduated from Middletown Colored School which was located at Delaware State College.  She was a lifetime member of Wesley Chapel of Love where she was a member of the usher board, trustee committee and the Staff/Pastor Parish Relations Committee.  She was also a member of the United Methodist Women's Committee.  She was employed at Leeds Travel Wear in Smyrna, DE and was a devoted homemaker.  She enjoyed cooking, and watching TV – the Soaps, Lifetime Stories, and Quiz Shows.  She also enjoyed chatting on the phone with her sisters and best friend Cassie Jones.  She loved shopping and eating out on Saturdays.

Nellie was preceded in death by her husband, Orie Wilson; two sons, Tony Fields and Ronald Walters, Sr.: her parents, Marshall Fields, Sr. and Nellie Fields; three sisters, Dorothy E. Fields, Laura M. Fields and Josephine Martin; three brothers, Marshall Fields, Jr., Jackson Fields, Sr. and Clinton E. Fields, Sr.

Nellie is survived by six of her children: Abdullah Muhammad of Baltimore, MD, Larry Fields (Melinie) of Warwick, MD, Victor Martin (Allison) of Dunsmuir, CA, Lisa Jefferson (Ray) of Galena, MD, Gregory Waters (Carmel) of Middletown, DE, and Rochelle Wilmore of Galena, MD; three stepchildren, Lynnette Wilson, Jeffery Wilson and Lenny Garnett; one daughter-in-law, Joanne Fields.  She leaves behind three sisters, Gloria Jefferson (Elzie), Doris Waters (Robert) and Audrey Walker; three sisters in law: Henrietta Wilson, Sabrina Fields and Kate Fields and one brother in law: William Wilson.  She also leaves behind to cherish her memory fifteen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren and ten great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, her best friend Cassie Jones and her second family at Briscoe Manor, Galena, MD.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, April 1 from 9-10:45 am at Zion United Methodist Church, Cecilton, MD, where funeral service will begin at 11 am.  Burial will follow in Bohemia Manor Cemetery, Chesapeake City, MD.
