Nancy Lee Teal, 79 of Chestertown, MD passed away peacefully on October 8, 2021 surrounded by her loving family.

Nancy was born on June 29, 1942, daughter of the late Lee Teal and Ruth Byron Braucht. She was raised in Chestertown and moved to Pennsylvania where she graduated from Penns Valley High School. She returned to Chestertown and worked for Fox's Store, and as a Lab Tech and for several nurseries including Angelica.  Nancy loved gardening, singing, dancing, playing the piano, reading and doing arts and crafts.

Nancy is survived by her stepfather, Paul Braucht of Shamokin Dam, PA, her 2 daughters,

Jennifer Knapp of Chestertown, MD and Rebekah Wallace of Kennedyville, MD, 5 grandchildren Ashley Knapp, Phillip Wallace Jr, Logan Melson (Josh), Zachary Knapp and Alayni Wallace, and one great-grandchild, Michael Plummer Jr. Nancy is also survived by 3 special friends, Sara Cordivano, Deb Reilly and Pat Joiner.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, October 14 from 12 to 1pm in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD, where service will begin at 1pm. Burial will follow in Chester Cemetery in Chestertown, MD.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be offered to the Animal Care Shelter for Kent County, 10720 Augustine Herman Highway, Chestertown, MD 21620, as Nancy had an extreme love for animals.
