Michael Mokriski, 80, of Betterton, MD, went Home to be with Jesus on September 23, 2023 in Accent Care, Christiana Hospital.

Mike was born on April 17, 1943 in Philadelphia, PA, son of the late Walter and Mary (Krupiak) Mokriski.  He was a graduate of West Chester University, where he played football.  He was inducted into the West Chester University Football Hall of Fame.  He taught Junior High Social Studies for a couple years, worked as a lab tech at Textile Research Institute, Princeton, NJ and for 17 years worked as a lab tech at Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science. He drove a tractor trailer over the road for a year, then worked as a groundskeeper at Laurel Hills Cemetery in Philadelphia.  After moving to Betterton in 2005 he worked as a parking lot attendant at Chester River Hospital, where he really enjoyed driving the golf cart and interacting with his riders.

Mike was a member of Faith Bible Church in Sudlersville, and a former member of the Gideons International.  He took great pride in caring for his yard and property, enjoyed reading books from the Betterton book boxes, exploring the rivers and creeks in his Jon boat, and walks to Betterton Beach.  Mike also enjoyed the men's prayer breakfasts and fellowship meals, and the Sabbath rest which he took seriously (a day of worship and rest).  Mike also served as a volunteer at Faith Christian School, Thursday afternoons as children were being dismissed.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mariana Curtin and a brother Walter Mokriski, Jr and his faithful dogs Curley and Belle.

Mike is survived by his wife of 29 years, Carole Page (Montgomery) Mokriski; his children, Meridith Mokriski of Hopewell, NJ and Jordan Mokriski of Stockton, NJ; the mother of his children, Victoria Mokriski and her husband Ed Skladany of Hopewell, NJ; a sister Helen Henry and her husband John of Camden, NJ and brother William Mokriski, Sr. of Green Lane, PA; two grandsons, Leo Mokriski and Iggy Mokriski and their mother, Sara Bizarro. He had a special relationship with his neighbor's horses, Martin and Lizzie.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 7 at 11 am at Faith Bible Church, 407 Dudley Corners Rd., Sudlersville, MD, where friends may call from 10 to 11 am.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be offered to Faith Bible Church or Faith Christian School.
