Michael Gunsallus 82, of Kennedyville, MD passed away on August 25, 2023 at the University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Easton.

Michael was born on December 2, 1940 in Drexel Hill, PA, the son of John and Mary Gunsallus.  As a teenager, he found his passion in community service as a volunteer fireman.  He later turned that into a career, working as a Fireman serving in various roles throughout his long career with the Drexel Hill Fire Department.  Upon retirement, Michael and his wife Margarite moved to Kentmore Park in Kennedyville, MD where he spent the summer months. During the winter they lived in Spring Creek Village in Florida.  He loved to play golf, especially with friends at Garrison's Lake Golf Course, go fishing, play cards, and spend time with his family.

Along with his parents, Michael is preceded in death by his son Michael Gunsallus Jr.

He is survived by his wife of over 30 years Margarite, daughters Sondra, Suzanne (Dave) and son Daniel; sister Betsy Gunsallus; 7 grandchildren, Ryan, Sherilyn, Chance, Erik, Crystal, Paul and Mark; and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 from 2 - 3 PM with a Memorial Service at 3 PM at the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD 21635
