Melvin M. Kendall, 'Buddy', 88 of Dover, DE, passed away on July 27, 2025 at BayHealth-Kent, Dover, DE.

Buddy was born on September 7, 1936, son of the late Thomas M and Helen Jones Kendall.  He was raised in Rock Hall, MD until moving to Queen Anne's County.  In 1994 he moved back to Kent County and for the past several years has lived in Dover, DE.   Buddy was a repairman for 33 years with C & P Telephone, retiring in 1987.

Buddy was an active member of the community, serving as a Town Councilman for Rock Hall for 2 terms, member of Queenstown Lions Club (past President, 3 years District Governors Cabinet and Melvin Jones Fellow), past president of Rock Hall VFC, past chief of Queenstown VFC, and a life member and past president of Upper Shore Council of Telephone Pioneers of America.

Buddy is survived by his companion Marie Kirwan, a son Thomas K. Kendall; sister Rebecca Ann Wright, a grandson and a special neighbor and caregiver Sharon Howard.

A viewing will be held on Monday, August 4 from 12 to 2 pm in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, Galena, MD.  Burial will be held privately in Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Rock Hall, MD.
