Melvin Ellsworth Grosh, 94 of Kennedyville, MD passed away on July 18, 2021.
Melvin was born on July 30, 1926 in Baltimore, MD to the late Edward Grosh and Gertrude Klump Grosh. In 1945 Melvin went to work for the C & P Telephone company where he worked for 45 years in several capacities, retiring in 1990 as an engineer. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving abroad in the Korean War. Melvin moved to Glen Burnie, MD where he raised his family and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and the Masonic Lodge. Upon retiring he moved to Kennedyville, MD in 1991. He was an avid outdoorsman where he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife of 33 years Mary Emily Lee Mewshaw Grosh who passed away in 1987, his second wife of 28 years Marguerite Spillman Grosh who passed away in 2018, along with brothers Charles Ellwood Grosh, Eugene Grosh, and sisters Evelyn Eder, Charlotte Robey, and Doris Rowley.
Melvin is survived by his daughters Karen Thiem (Christopher) of Westminster, MD, Melissa Maule (Wayne) of Millington, MD, and Jennifer Poteet (Kenneth) of South Carolina, 7 grandchildren: Zachary Thiem, Amanda Thiem, Daniel Dierker, David Dierker, Laura Coleman, Brian Holsey, and Nathan Holsey, 4 great grandchildren: Lainie Coleman, Finn Dierker, Grady Dierker and Hadley Dierker, and sister Eunice Whittington.
A memorial graveside service will be held August 14, 2021 at 10am in Glen Haven Memorial Park, Glen Burnie, MD
