Maryann W. Macchione, 84 of Galena, MD, passed away surrounded by her loving family on November 26, 2023, at the Resorts at Chester River Manor.

Mrs. Macchione was born on October 24, 1939, in Schuylkill County, PA, daughter of the late Joseph and Grace George Wasilewski.  While living in Philadelphia she married Edward in 1959 and they started their family.  In 1975 they began visiting Indian Acres Campground and in the early 1980's she began operating the Trading Post for several years.  They moved to Galena in 1986 where she became active with St. Dennis Catholic Church.  She loved to bake cookies and started the Bake Sales at St. Dennis.  She enjoyed Tea parties with her grandchildren and friends.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Thomas and Joseph Wasilewski.

Maryann is survived by her husband of 64 years Edward L. Macchione Sr.; sons, Edward L. Macchione Jr. (Mary) of Galena, Steven Macchione Sr. (Susan) of Phila., PA and Daniel Macchione Sr. (Jean) of Galena; 7 grandchildren, Edward Macchione III, Steven Macchione Jr., Jennifer Macchione, Matthew Macchione, Daniel Macchione Jr. (Courtney), Anthony Macchione (Gabriella) and Julie Macchione and 2 greatgrandchildren Isabella and Luka.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, December 2 from 9 to 10:30 AM at the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD.  A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11AM at St. Dennis Catholic Church, 153 N. Main St. Galena, MD.  Burial will be held in Galena Cemetery.
