Mary T. Williams, 96 of Galena, MD passed away on January 15, 2025 at Compass Regional Hospice Center, Centreville, MD.
Mary was born on September 29, 1928 in Philadelphia, PA, daughter of the late Walter and Mary Servis Scott. She attended Nativity of the B.V.M. School where she honed her professional office skills. Mary met and on October 9, 1948 married the love of her life, Bill Williams. In her earlier career, Mary worked as a computer programmer for the IRS but most of us remember the career she established at Hamilton Jewelers in Princeton, NJ. With her loving husband Bill, Mary raised four children. They became avid boaters and enjoyed cruising the Delaware River and the Chesapeake Bay. They were active and involved members of the Pennsylvania Yacht Club and Galena VFC. It was with the friends and members of these organizations that Mary scheduled, cooked and supported many breakfasts, dinners and events. Additionally Shriner's Children's Hospital of Philadelphia was an organization which was near and dear to her heart.
Upon retirement and building on their love for boating Mary and Bill, moved to Galena where they enjoyed time on the Bay and its tributaries. Later in life they purchased an RV and traveled the country visiting family and friends. On these travels they explored numerous sights but would often reminisce of their visit to Mt. Rushmore and Branson, MO.
Along with her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, William P. Williams, Jr.; a son, William P. Williams, III; siblings, John Scott, Charles Scott, Catherine Scheidler and Doloris Grinstead.
Mary is survived by her children, Mary Joyce Grubb (Bill) of Bryn Athyn, PA, Thomas W. Williams (Susan) of Bear, DE and Cynthia Williams Sigmon (Bill) of Chester, MD; a brother Walter Scott (Carol); 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
