Mary Lou Peightal, 93 of Galena, MD, formally of Indiana, PA passed away peacefully on April 7, 2026 in her daughter’s home.

Mrs. Peightal was born on March 27, 1933, in Indiana, PA, daughter of the late Ted and Bertha Stuchell Wingrove. She was a lifetime resident of Indiana until moving to Chestertown in 2012. Mrs. Peightal and her husband owned and operated Indiana Frame & Axle Service until their retirement in 1995.

Mary Lou loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed dancing, taking walks and vacations spent at the beach in Ocean City and family trips to the lake. She was a member of St. Bernards in Indiana, PA.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years Virgil G. Peightal; an infant son Virgil George Peightal, Jr; and a sister Martha Henry.

Mrs. Peightal is survived by her children Tim Peightal and his wife Lyn of Edgewater, FL, Ed Peightal and his wife Barbara of Annville, PA, Nettie Receski of Galena, MD and Cathy Wilt and her husband Bob of Chestertown, MD; a brother Harry Wingrove of Indiana, PA; grandchildren Zachary Peightal, Nick Peightal and his wife Alex, Samantha Receski-Heavlow and her husband Jimmy, Amber Receski, Alison Receski, Lauren Brooks and her husband Aaron; and 2 great grandchildren JJ Heavlow and Rory Peightal.

A private memorial service will be held in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, Galena, MD
