Mary Webb Marvel,88 of Chestertown, MD passed away on September 2, 2023 in Washington, D.C.

Mrs. Marvel was born on November 24, 1934 in Kennedyville, MD, daughter of the late Jesse A. and Etta Skeggs Webb.  She was born and raised on the family farm at Turner's Creek.  Mary was a 1952 graduate of Chestertown High School.  In 1953 she married William Marvel and for 42 years lived at Angelica Nurseries where Bill worked and she raised her family.  In anticipation of Bill's retirement, they built a home in Queen Anne's County where they have enjoyed living for the last 26 years.

She was a member of the Chesterville Homemakers.  Mrs. Marvel enjoyed her vacations to Lake George, NY, trips to Lancaster, PA and canning vegetables.  She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Joseph J. Webb, James H. Webb and Francis A. Webb.

Mrs. Marvel is survived by her husband of 69 years, William Marvel, their children, Deborah Davis (Glenn) and Tom Marvel (Pam); 3 grandchildren, Tara Peace (Will), Martin Davis (Katie) and Brooke Mulford (Trevor); 6 great grandchildren, Hayden and Drew Davis, Hill and Carson Peace and Hayes and Tripp Mulford and a special family friend Hugo Torres.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 10 from 12 to 1pm in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, Galena, MD where funeral service will begin at 1 pm.  Burial will be held privately in Still Pond Cemetery.
