Marvin Oakley, Sr. the son of the late George Hynson, Sr. & Ollie Frances Oakley Cotton, departed this world on Monday, July 29, 2024 at Chestertown Nursing & Rehab Center. Marvin was born on August 26, 1947 in Philadelphia, PA. He was 76 years of age.

Marvin was preceded in death by his loving wife Iris D Oakley : sisters, Betty Jean, Lethel, Pam, Gloria,Tonya, and Shirley; brothers, Gerald and Dewayne.

Marvin leaves to cherish his memories children Dierdre Jones-Turner (Roger), Marvin Oakely, Jr. (Kristy); four granddaughters, Shaneka (Jackson), Khadedra, Bailey, Quiana; one grandson, MarKris; four great grandchildren, Zahara, Elijah, Ezekeil, and Xakaia; four sisters, Cynthia, Ronda (Richard), Betty, and Iris; two brothers, George (Sherry) and Vernon; sister in laws; Faye (James) and Cheryl; brother in law, William, adopted brother, James "Toot" Little (Joyce); goddaughter/niece, Pastor Ashley and devoted nieces Jasmine, Juanita & Leslie: bonus children and grandchild Akeela, Lamont, and Kayden; and a  host of nephews, nieces, and friends.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024 from 11 am – 1pm in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, Galena, MD where funeral service will begin at 1 pm.
