Margaret Spencer Sparks, 83 of Crumpton, MD passed away on August 30, 2022 at Mercy Medical Center, Baltimore, MD.

Mrs. Sparks was born on August 19, 1939 in Easton, daughter of the late Robert Wilson Spencer and Hilda Starkey Spencer.  She was a 1957 graduate of Sudlersville High School.  Margaret worked as a secretary for Hardwood Mills from 1978 thru 1996 and for the next 18 years at the Outpost 544, retiring in 2015.  She was a member of Crumpton United Methodist Church and a auxiliary member with both the Frank M. Jarman American Legion Post 36 and the Crumpton Vol. Fire Co.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Thomas Irvin Sparks, Jr. in 1999.

Mrs. Sparkes is survived by numerous cousins including Richard Wersten, Eleanor Potts, Frances Dennis, Billy Graham, Linda Gustafson, Charles Starkey, George Bland, Jimmy Walls, Freddy Starkey and Jimmy Starkey and a special niece Fran Wersten and her son Gregory Wersten.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday Sept. 6 from 10-11am in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD, where funeral service will begin at 11 am. Burial in Crumpton Cemetery.
