Margaret M. Bennington, 92 of Earleville, MD passed away surrounded by her loving family on October 28, 2022 in her home.

Mrs. Bennington was born on August 21, 1930 in Chester, PA, daughter of the late George E. Watson, Sr. and Margaret Glennan Watson.  In 1946 she married Robert Lee Bennington and started their family, raising 4 children. For 14 years she was a Girl Scout Leader.  In 1956 she and her husband built a summer home in Crystal Beach making it their full-time residence in 1988.  She was a member of St. Dennis Catholic Church in Galena where she taught 1 ^st grade religious education for 8 years. Mrs. Bennington enjoyed cooking for her family for every holiday or special event.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Robert Lee Bennington, a sister Florence Riggins and a brother George E. Watson, Jr.

Mrs. Bennington is survived by her children, Margaret Lee "Peg" Tillinghast (Richard) of Chesapeake City, MD, Robert Lee Bennington, Jr. (Dawn) of Clarksdale, DE, Ronald Lee Bennington (Julie) of Brooklyn, NY and Cynthia Lee Bennington of Earleville, MD; 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, November 3 from 6 to 8 pm in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD.  Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, November 4 at 11 am in St. Dennis Catholic Church, 153 N. Main St. Galena, MD.
