M. Fay Yerkie, 90 of Skinners Neck, Rock Hall, MD, died Thursday May 16, 2024 in Shore Medical Center Chestertown surrounded by her family.

Fay was born July 31, 1933 in Skinners Neck to the late Charles Earl and Clara Virginia Watson Boulter. She lived most of her life in Rock Hall, with 68 years being in Skinners Neck.

She married Robert (Bob) Stevens Yerkie on October 29, 1949 and were together until his death on December 25, 2010. She worked for the A&P in Chestertown, LaMotte Chemical, and with the cafeteria staff at the Rock Hall Elementary School until her retirement in 2007. While her family was her greatest joy in life, she also enjoyed duckpin bowling, watching the Orioles, and a visit to the Dover Downs slots. Fay enjoyed baking from scratch and would always send her visitors home with a slice of cake or some of her peanut butter candy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bob, a son Timothy Lee Yerkie, as well as siblings Lorraine Kendall, Donald Boulter, and Virginia Eileen Boulter.

Fay is survived by her three sons, Gary S. Yerkie and his wife Candy of Front Royal Virginia, J. Preston Yerkie of Rock Hall, Robert Lyn Yerkie and his wife Gail of Rock Hall, her daughter-in-law Jody Yerkie, and her sister Joyce Trimble, as well as 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 21 from 12-2 pm in Raum Chapel in Skinners Neck. Funeral services will begin at 2pm with Pastor Steve Leonard officiating, followed by internment at Wesley Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Raum Chapel United Methodist Church, co/ Debbie Nelson, 4985 Piney Neck Rd., Rock Hall, MD 21661.
