Obituary

Lynn Ann Hannan, affectionately known as Mimi 72, of Galena, MD passed away peacefully at home on September 27, 2026 with her loving family at her side.

Lynn was born in Corona, CA on January 18, 1954 to the late Billy Ray and Marguerite Ethel Kessler Wynn. Lynn’s father was an Air Force Officer whose military career took her all over the country and the world as a child. As a self proclaimed “Air Force Brat” she attended many different schools before the family settled in the suburbs of Richmond, VA where she graduated from Midlothian High School. After high school she continued school to follow her passion of helping others and became a registered nurse graduating from Richmond Memorial Nursing school. For over 30 years she worked in many different nursing fields including neonatal intensive care, psychiatrics, surgical nursing, home health, as well as outpatient surgery. Her mission was to simply offer care, respect, and compassion to all of her patients.

Lynn’s caring nature didn’t end at work. She was an animal lover and took in many animals over the years, including her best pup friends Elmo and Pip. She also loved her shoe and purse collection. Above all though, Lynn loved her family. During the early years of motherhood, when life called on her to face every parent’s deepest fear, she stood unshakable. In the midst of supporting her own child through a battle with cancer, her heart only grew larger. Even in her hardest hours, she became a steadfast pillar of strength and comfort for other families walking that same heartbreaking path. She taught us all what unconditional love, quiet courage, and true resilience look like. She cherished times with her children and grandchildren. Their time together at the movies, celebrating holidays, and “hanging” out at the cabins were some of her favorite times.

She is survived by her two children Adrianne Ko (Adon) of Anneville, PA and Sarah Merrell (Sam) of Galena, MD; grandchildren Abram Ko, Abbey Ko, Samantha Merrell, and Sylas Merrell; brother Scott Wynn (Sharon) of Richmond, VA; Nieces and Nephews Cody Wynn (Natalie) and their three children (Max, Miles, and Murphy) and Hunter Wynn; and her best friend and “sista” Debbie Parker.

As per Lynn’s wishes there will be no formal services, but donations in her memory may be offered to Specialove.org, ronaldmcdonaldhouse.org, ACSKC (Animal Care Shelter for Kent County- acskc.org/donate).
