Obituary

Linda Theresa Dierker, 68, of Massey, MD, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 20, 2025, at Bayhealth Hospital, Kent Campus.  She was surrounded by her loving family.

Born on August 2, 1957, in Reading, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Leon Wapinski and Helen Wapinski.  She grew up in Berks County before moving to Lower Cecil County, Maryland, at the age of sixteen.  She had a natural talent for finance and business and worked for several organizations as a Financial Analyst, most notably at the Sears Roebuck catalog store and American Honda.  In 1998, she married Henry Dierker Jr., and a year later, together they founded Ducks in Flight Waterfowl Hunting LLC, an idea and vision that originated with Linda.  She was affectionately known as the "Warden" and was loved by all the hunters who visited the farm.

Linda was a devout Catholic and attended the Church of the Holy Cross in Dover, Delaware.  She led prayer groups and published a newsletter titled Messengers of the Queen of Peace.  She loved her grandchildren deeply. Whether she was writing them special Christmas letters from Santa or sharing stories, they always held a special place in her heart. She was very creative and crafty. Her favorite item to make was rosaries, which she sold and shipped all over the country.  As a collector, she especially loved angel figurines and statues.  Her most cherished creation was the Living Rosary Prayer Garden on the farm. This sacred place has welcomed visitors from around the world to pray and reflect in the Rosary Garden.  For many years, the garden has been a place of peace, serenity and devotion.  Above all, Linda was a caring, loving and selfless person.

Along with her father, Linda was preceded in death by her sister, Theresa Wapinski.

She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Henry Dierker Jr.; her mother, Helen Wapinski; daughter, Shelley Daniels (Dave) of Golts, MD; sons, Jeffrey Turner Jr. (Whitney) of Massey, MD and Henry "Richie" Dierker, III of Massey, MD; siblings, Robert "Bobby" Craig of Fleetwood, PA, and Diana Paris (Ronnie) of Elkton, MD; and seven grandchildren: JT Turner, Kayle Turner, Laney Turner, Emma Turner, Olivia Daniels, David Daniels Jr., and Michael Dierker.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, November 5 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 noon on November 6 in the Church of the Holy Cross,  631 S. State St. Dover, DE.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Linda's memory may be made online to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at https://www.stjude.org/ . She was a devoted supporter of St. Jude's mission to bring hope and healing to children and their families.
