Obituary

Lesley H. Davis, 81, of Clayton, DE passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026, at home after battling pancreatic cancer.

Lesley was born on May 28, 1944, in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Jane Henze and Duane Hargreaves.  In her younger years she moved around a lot but enjoyed horseback riding and anything outdoors. After getting married and starting a family, she was a monumental figure in growing a thriving dairy operation.  She was a hard worker and loved all aspects of the farm, especially caring for animals.  After leaving the farm she worked various jobs as a caretaker for both businesses and families.  She was an amazing woman who was a jack of all trades.  She always loved being outside and would spend her free time in nature.  She enjoyed planting flowers, gardening, bird watching, walking trails, cuddling with her dogs and had a profound love for doing laundry.

Lesley was extremely present for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Her greatest joy was spending time with them and always being a huge supporter in all aspects of their lives.   Later in her life she dedicated her life to helping others, she was extremely humble and many people looked to her for strength and encouragement. While she was strong-willed, she always had a way of making everyone feel important and welcome.  She touched so many lives and will be deeply missed by all who loved and cared for her.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her son Samuel W. Davis Sr. , her sister Irene Joseph and her dearest sweet dog, Otto.

Lesley is survived by daughters Pamela J. Poore (Michael) of Mississippi and Paige A Davis of Clayton, Delaware; grandchildren Samuel Davis Jr. (Ashley), Tristan McGeoch (Jen), Noah Poore (Madison) and Mollie McGeoch (Jason); and six great grandchildren: Baker and Cameran Davis, Vivian McGeoch, Kinsley Bowers, and Atreus and Finnley Poore.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 22, 2026, from 1 to 2 PM in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD where a memorial service will be held at 2 PM.

In honor of Lesley's love for flowers, floral tributes are welcome.
