Leah H. McKenzie, 85, of Kennedyville, MD, passed away September 26, 2023, at Accent Care, Christiana Hospital in Delaware.

Mrs. McKenzie was born on July 16, 1938, in Ridley Park, PA, daughter of the late George Willard Hadden and Leah Hampson Hadden.  After graduating high school, she married Donald McKenzie and together raised their sons in Prospect Park and later in Media, PA.  Leah enjoyed being a homemaker but also sold Avon in the area.  Leah also worked for Weston Pest Services for a few years in the late 80's as a service coordinator.  Leah and Don retired in 1990 to Kentmore Park, Maryland on Turners Creek and spent their winters in Bayonet Point, Florida along with Don's two brothers, wives, and Don's mother.  Many happy years were spent together with family.  After her husband's passing in 2002, Leah traveled throughout Europe, South America, the Caribbean, Canada, Seattle, Vermont, Hawaii, and Alaska.  Leah traveled with her partner Dick Murphy, friends, and on her own.  Leah loved playing and watching sports. She skied, played tennis, hiked, kayaked, walked, and golfed.  She also enjoyed gardening.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Donald B. McKenzie and a brother George Hadden.

Mrs. McKenzie is survived by her sons, Donald S. McKenzie and his wife Paddee of Port Orchard, WA and Glenn C. McKenzie and his wife Christina of Landenberg, PA and a granddaughter Aimee McKenzie of Bremerton, WA.

A memorial service will be held on October 7th at 12 pm at the Presbyterian Church of Chestertown, Maryland.  The service will also be live streamed on the Presbyterian Church of Chestertown's website.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be offered to Presbyterian Church of Chestertown.
