Lawrence B Williams, 71 of Middletown, DE passed away at home on June 20, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.

Lawrence was born in Wilmington, DE on July 29, 1951 son of the late John Williams and Ruby Woodard Williams.  He grew up in Wilmington, graduating from P. S. DuPont High School.  In July of 1976, he married the love of his life Thiara Wilmore.  They raised their family in Wilmington before eventually moving to Middletown in 2000.  After graduation, Lawrence went to work for General Motors, retiring in 2008 after 35 years of service.  Upon retiring from GM, he went to work for the Appoquinimink School District where he retired in 2018 after 10 years of service.  He will be remembered for his love of fishing, good music, watching his favorite sports teams and his cars.

Along with his parents, Lawrence was preceded in death by his brother Marcus Williams and grandmother Charlotte Woodard.

He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Thiara Williams; son Dwayne Williams of Wilmington, DE, daughter Courtney Beard (Robert) of Middletown, DE, brother Dennis Williams (Shayne) of Wilmington, DE; Stepmother Jean Williams, grandson Sean Beard; devoted nieces Shanda, Amanda, Lauren and Dashawn; along with many other loving family members.

The family would like to extend their sincere thanks and gratitude to Delaware Hospice for the care and support they provided during this difficult time.

A graveside service will be held privately at Bohemia Manor Cemetery in Chesapeake City, MD.
