Pastor Kenneth Lee Hickman went home to be with his Lord on June 2, 2025 after a long battle with brain cancer. He "fought the good fight" and "finished his course" and is finally in Jesus' arms, home at last for his final rest.

Kenny was born on September 29, 1951, son of the late Albert "Buck" Wesley Hickman and Irma Viola Haddaway Hickman.  He was a resident of Still Pond where he was a 1970 graduate of Chestertown High School.  He worked with his older brother T. Allie Hickman at T. Allie's Sign Company while still in high school.  After high school he married Debbie Hampton and had three children, Kenneth Lee Hickman, Jr., Kenneth Scott Hickman and Kelley Dawn Hickman.  Kenny worked at a sausage company as well as Tolchester Marina where he learned his trade of finish carpentry; and was excellent at his craft.  Kenny affectionately said, "he always worked for a Jewish carpenter Jesus Christ".  Prior to his illness, he had the most joyous time working at the beautiful Andelot Farm, with his wife Karen for 4 years, and so loved it.

Kenny met the love of his life, Karen Hickman and started going back to church. He soon got the call to go into the ministry while they were both attending Wesley Chapel in Rock Hall. Kenny and his wife served at many of the local Methodist churches in the area as well as a non-denominational church that opened in Kennedyville, "IN HIS ARMS".

While serving as a Pastor, Kenny served as Hospice Chaplain in Kent County, was involved and served many weekends for the Emmaus Community, was a Volunteer Pastor Care Pastor at several nursing homes and hospitals and had a passion for youth and their Christian walk with the Lord. His passion for youth showed through his joy in so many VBS groups and Youth Rallies.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Lee Hickman, Jr., two brothers, Albert Paige Hickman and Daniel 'Nerdie" Hickman.

Kenny is survived by his devoted, loving wife of 35 years, Karen Ann Hickman and his faithful companion, golden retriever, Beau.  Also surviving are his 2 children, Scott Hickman (Melanie) of Still Pond and Kelley Dawn Gerrity-Hickman (Jennifer) of Smyrna, DE; 1 brother, Thomas Allen Hickman (Judy) of Chestertown; 2 grandsons, Gunner Hickman of Chestertown and Carter Germano of Smyrna, DE; and many loving nieces, nephews and their families; as well as so many dear friends.

One of the nicest things I just heard about Kenny was "throughout his life he left a smile with everyone he met."

A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 12 from 12 to 1 pm in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD, where funeral service will begin at 1 pm.
