Kay Diane Higgs, 78 of Ocean View, DE passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on March 16, 2025.

Mrs. Higgs was born on May 21, 1946 in Chestertown, MD, daughter of the late Horace and Betty Holden Needles.  Kay was a graduate of Chestertown High School Class of 1964.  In 1967 she graduated from Easton Memorial as a Registered Nurse.  That year she married Clifford and they moved to their farm in Ingleside where she raised her family.  Kay worked as a Public Health Nurse for Queen Annes County Health Dept., retiring in 2008.  Kay and Clifford moved to Ocean View in 2017, where they enjoyed their retirement.

She was a past member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Ingleside.

Mrs. Higgs is survived by her husband of 58 years, Clifford L. Higgs, sons, Craig Higgs (Tracy) of Centreville, MD and Kevin Higgs (Sherry) of Henderson, MD; 4 grandchildren, Trevor Higgs (Carrie), Carley Higgs (Jonathan), Kelsey Higgs and Rose Fan; 3 great grandchildren, Cali, Stetson and Waylon and 2 sisters Lee Loller (Tommy) and Kim Smith (Donald).

A viewing will be held on Monday, March 24, from 12 to 1pm in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD where funeral service will begin at 1 pm.  Burial will follow in Sudlersville Cemetery, Sudlersville, MD.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be offered to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959
